Books can change minds and change lives. But for that to happen, books need readers. Our mission is to foster a generation of new readers by creating books kids love.

Too often children’s books seem to have been created for adults. They reflect the perspectives, ideals, and priorities of the adult world. In contrast, River Horse books celebrate kids’ interests and reflect their world. We give kids a place where their curiosity and imagination are encouraged and where they feel empowered to explore. Making sure kids have fun reading is at the core of everything we do. If they have fun, they’ll ask for another book.

We love making books, but our passion is making readers. More readers mean more opportunities for books to change minds, change lives, and maybe even change the world.
